CVS Sexual Health Testing Kits
Simplifying at-home tests for a safer experiences for all.
CVS offers a comprehensive range of at-home STI testing kits, empowering individuals to screen for sexually transmitted infections from the privacy of their homes. However, their current packaging system lacks clarity and distinction from other at-home tests. There is a significant opportunity to streamline the information architecture and structural flow of the packaging, ensuring it remains scientifically accurate and trustworthy. This package refresh is designed to better reflect CVS's ethos and values of providing quality care to all.

CONCEPT, PACKAGE REDESIGN, INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE, LAYOUT & HIERARCHY
Existing packaging of CVS’s at-home testing kits.
The current packaging of CVS’s at-home testing kits do not have a system that distinguishes STI testing with testing for other infections. This is concerning considering at-home STI tests are particularly popular among younger individuals and among populations who may face stigma or barriers in accessing traditional healthcare settings. To address concerns and provide reassurance specific to sexual health, STI testing kits need to have their own system which not only differs from general health testing kits, but can expand in its own family of various infections grouped under the larger umbrella of sexually transmitted infections.

By restructuring the information flow on all 4 sides of the outer package, we convey crucial information clearly enough for a customer making purchasing decision in a rush. The information panel on the back now utilizes a tabular format containing important information on when to test for specific STIs – something previously looked over because of poor information hierarchy.
